Klint Kubiak: Five things to know

His father is a football coach and he has grown up around the game.

Baltimore is familiar with the Kubiak moniker because Klint Kubiak was the son of Gary Kubiak who served as the Ravens offensive coordinator in the highly successful 2014 campaign.

Gary was well liked and respected in the Ravens building. He helped revitalize their offense on the way to the playoffs. Gary’s play-action and stretch zone scheme helped Joe Flacco achieve career highs for passing yards (3.986) and touchdowns (27) and Justin Forsett ran for a record 1,266 yard career.

Klint has grown up around football. When Klint was 5, his father began his coaching career and when he was 7, his dad began his 27-year NFL coach career.

Gary’s last season as head coach was in 2016. The pair then worked together again in Minnesota in 2019 and 2020 for Gary’s remaining years in the NFL.

After his father retired, Klint told reporters that he had learned a lot from him.

The main thing that comes into my mind is being organized, demanding and fair. “Everything else will take care itself.”

Klay is Klint’s brother by one year. He is the 49ers offensive coordinator. They coached in San Francisco together for one year in 2023. Kliff was the passing game coordinator, and Klay the assistant quarterbacks’ coach.
