Keyon Martin and T.J. Tampa have remained ready to step up at cornerback

Martin, who stands at 5’9″, has always dreamed of playing for the NFL. His father Manny Martin was a defensiveback in the NFL who played five years with the Houston Oilers.

Martin learned from his father how to succeed, how to value each repetition in practice and to stay focused as if every day was your last. Martin was not surprised that he made the team. Martin is ready to continue his success against the Texans after playing 53% defensive snaps and racking up five tackles.

Martin said, “I will have the same thoughts every week. I’ll focus on my tasks and techniques and make plays.” “I sometimes think of how far I’ve progressed since the spring, but I have always felt that I was meant to be here.” I always wanted to play in NFL. “It’s not surprising to me.”

Martin is confident that Baltimore will rebound despite its 1-3 start. Martin believes the Ravens’ defensive issues are more in reach than they may seem.

Martin stated, “Defensively the tape does not match the scoreboard on the screen when you watch it.” It’s all about attention to detail. I’m sure we’ll fix it this week even though some of our guys are out. “I’m looking forward to this weekend, especially for the defense.”

Martin has tapped into the advice of veterans like Humphrey Awuzie and Alexander.

Martin remarked, “We have a lot old heads there.” They’re dropping their knowledge every week. They don’t always realize they are dropping knowledge. “They’ve been doing this for so long that it’s just natural to them.”
