Kevin Stefanski: Five things you should know

Stefanski, the offensive player is not always in charge of play-calling.

Stefanski played defensive back at Penn in college, but has been a coach who favors offensive play.

He began his career under the long-time offensive director Brad Childress. Then, he worked up through the Vikings organization, becoming a tight end, running backs and quarterbacks coach, before being appointed their full-time coordinator in 2019.

In his first season, the Vikings offense went from being the 19 th to the 8th, scoring an average of 25.4 points per match. After that breakthrough season, the Browns hired him to be their head coach.

Stefanski, who was Cleveland’s offensive play-caller during much of his time there, was open to changing direction.

After a slow offensive start, he handed over these duties to Ken Dorsey at the mid-point of the 2024 campaign. He returned to playcalling duties at the beginning of the 2025 campaign, but handed that responsibility back to Tommy Rees in the final weeks.
