Steelers Defense Doesn’t Take Ravens Lightly without DK Metcalf

The Ravens will not have DK Metcalf’s problem this weekend but they won’t take the Pittsburgh Steelers passing game for granted.

Metcalf will not play in the Steelers-Ravens game for the AFC North championship on Sunday night. He is currently serving his second of two games for an altercation he had with a Ravens fan. Metcalf has 850 receiving yardage and caught seven passes in the Steelers’ 27-22 win over Baltimore.

Aaron Rodgers, however, has been spreading the ball all season. Kenneth Gainwell is Pittsburgh’s leading receiver (65), but tight ends Pat Freiermuth, Jonnu Smith, and running back Jaylen Warrall all have 30 or more catches. Darnell Washington, the Steelers’ tight end (broken elbow), will also be out of action. But safety Malaki starks says that the Ravens are very respectful of Pittsburgh’s other weapons.

Starks stated that “DK is obviously their best player, but we must focus on the rest of the team and execute our defensive strategy.” “We are at stake.” It would have been easy to give up when we were 1-4 or 1-5 and say that this year wasn’t for us. But we didn’t. Now this could be our story. “We can get to where we want to go.”

Starks, as well as Pro Bowl linebacker Roquan smith, both agreed that Rodgers’ accuracy allowed the Steelers make plays when their targets were tightly covered. Starks, who watched Rodgers play last month when he completed 23 of his 34 passes for 284 yards and a season high against Baltimore, said that he had learned a lot from the quarterback’s accuracy.

Starks stated that “he is a Hall of Famer and a true veteran, because of the way he can lead.” You can see his game breakdown when you watch the film and play against him.

Smith suggested that the Ravens may face an aggressive game plan against the Steelers this week.

Smith stated, “Even when you’re up against a quarterback who is able to pinpoint and place the ball exactly where he wants, they still take those shots.” “Obviously, we need to improve on these plays compared to last time.”
