The Ravens’ playoff run came to a bitter end Sunday night as they fell 27-25 to the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Divisional Round. Despite moments of brilliance, turnovers and missed opportunities proved too costly for Baltimore to overcome.
The momentum shifted late in the fourth quarter when the Ravens were threatening to take the lead. Mark Andrews, who had just picked up a first down on second-and-11 deep in Buffalo territory, had the ball punched out by linebacker Terrel Bernard.
The fumble—Baltimore’s third turnover of the game—gave Buffalo possession with 8:41 remaining and a 24-19 lead. The Bills methodically chewed up the clock on an 11-play drive, capping it with a field goal to extend their lead to 27-19 with just 3:29 left to play.
Baltimore refused to go quietly. Lamar Jackson orchestrated a brilliant late drive, finding Isaiah Likely for a stunning 24-yard touchdown with just over a minute remaining. The score brought the Ravens within two points, setting the stage for a dramatic two-point conversion attempt.
Jackson rolled to his right and found a wide-open Mark Andrews in the end zone. But in a heartbreaking moment, Andrews dropped the pass, sealing the Ravens’ fate.
Turnovers were the story of the night for Baltimore. Jackson threw an interception and lost a fumble in the first half, and Andrews’ fourth-quarter fumble turned what could have been a game-winning drive into a missed opportunity.
Despite outgaining Buffalo 416-273 and holding Josh Allen to just 127 passing yards, Baltimore couldn’t overcome their mistakes.
The Ravens’ season ends in heartbreak, but the team has plenty to be proud of. A division title, a playoff win over their rivals in Pittsburgh, and standout performances from key players like Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry highlighted a successful campaign.
Still, the sting of coming up short will serve as motivation as the team looks to bounce back stronger next season.
