Chargers defense played a key role in securing a playoff berth.
The team finished the season in fifth place. Minter’s team improved throughout the season. In 10 of the Chargers’ last 11 games they held their opponents to fewer than 20 points, and tied for third with 19 interceptions.
Los Angeles limited the Patriots explosive offense to just 16 points, forcing two turnovers during its Wild Card loss on Sunday.
Los Angeles’ defense was quick and physical, led by Pro Bowl outside linebacker Tuli Tuipulotu and Pro Bowl safety Derwin Jam. Four Chargers players had at least five sacks: Tuipulotu (13.5), Odafe Oweh, an ex-Raven (7.5), Justin Eboigbe (6) and Khalil Mac (5.5). The Ravens want to improve their pass-rush, but the Chargers were good at hitting quarterbacks.
