Ed Reed Becomes Offensive Coordinator at His Son’s High School

Reed’s son, Ed Reed III, plays for Chamblee where he will be a senior next season.

“Excited about the opportunity to help the Chamblee community and teach this game to the Chamblee football team,” Reed said in a statement. “Thanks for all the support out there, and while other coaching opportunities were available to me, at other levels of football, I couldn’t pass up the chance to coach my son.”

Reed played 11 of his 12 NFL seasons in Baltimore, where he made nine Pro Bowls and won Defensive Player of the Year in 2004. Reed’s first coaching gig came in 2016 when he was hired as the assistant defensive backs coach for the Buffalo Bills.

Reed has assisted the Chamblee coaching staff in the past, but he now returns in an official capacity.
