Colin Cowherd says Narrative about Ravens blowing lead is overblown

John Harbaugh, the Ravens’ head coach, was asked this week whether there was a rhyme or reason to why they squander their double-digit lead more often than other teams. He said that one factor is because they have had many two-scores leads.

Colin Cowherd, of FOX Sports, said Harbaugh was right.

“I went back to look, and the Ravens were one of seven teams that led at least 20 games in the fourth quarter by nine to 16 points over the last four seasons. Cowherd noted that the Ravens are among seven teams to have led at least 20 games by nine-to-16 points in the fourth quarter over the past four seasons. “The Ravens are leading by a lot more than the other teams,” Cowherd said. In just four years, they’ve led by 10 points more in the fourth than Buffalo, seven more than Chiefs, and ten more than Bengals.

“I don’t say they don’t play with their foods a little, or that they need to improve, but if you think about it, wouldn’t Jets, Giants and Panthers enjoy the luxury of leading by 9 to 16 points in the 4th quarter?”

Cowherd’s deeper dive revealed that Harbaugh is in good company with the Ravens.

Cowherd stated, “I looked up the coaches who have blown double-digit lead in the fourth quarter in the history the league.” “Tom Landry Don Shula Bill Belichick Mike Shanahan and John Harbaugh.

You see lead blown out. What do you see? Lombardi trophies.”
