Clifton Brown’s Five Thoughts on Ravens Dropping to 1-5

Ravens’ failure to finish in key situations

It’s not always about winning games. For example, in Week 1, Buffalo blew a 16 point lead at the end of the fourth quarter. It’s sometimes their defense that doesn’t finish a tackle, or gets off the field when it is third down.

In this game, even though the Ravens were tied 3-3, they failed to finish a possible touchdown drive. This was the turning-point. The Ravens cannot afford to miss scoring chances without Jackson. Otherwise, their offense will not eat.

Who knows what would have happened if the Ravens took a 10-3 lead at halftime?

We’ll probably never know. Derrick Henry gained 3 yards on first-and goal from the 4 to bring Baltimore within three yards of the endzone. The Rams then slammed a door in Baltimore’s faces. Mark Andrews failed to gain any yardage on his two “Tush Pushes” in a row. Derrick Henry lost two yards on fourth down.

It is possible to question the decision not run Henry (24 carries for 122 yards) either on second or third down. Harbaugh, however, did not like the sequence. He said that the Ravens were good enough to get one yard no matter what play they ran.

Harbaugh stated that “every single coach and player would agree” that the item should be added. “I think it’s easy for me to criticize the fact that this didn’t happen. I’m the same. We were not pushed. We didn’t perform well. Mark is a very physical man, and we’re both big-bodied offensive linemen. “Give the Rams some credit, but it’s all on us.”

It’s not just injuries that are to blame for the Ravens’ 1-5 record. They don’t always finish what they started, and this will need to change if they want to turn their season around.

DeAndre Hopkins, a veteran wide receiver, said that bad football would get him to 1-5.
