Clifton Brown’s Five Thoughts about the Ravens pitching a shutout in Cincinnati

The Ravens were able to show their fighting spirit despite the cold weather.

Baltimore could not afford to lose against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. The Bengals’ Thanksgiving victory over the Ravens and the 1 degree wind chill at kick-off didn’t make a difference.

The Ravens took this opportunity because they needed it. They never gave up on Joe Burrow and never allowed him to reach the end zone. In the fourth quarter, Cincinnati had a chance to win, but Kyle Van Noy combined with Alohi Gillman for an interception, and a 95-yard defensive touchdown, which sealed the deal.

Baltimore (7-7) beat Cincinnati 24-0 to get back to.500, and to keep control of their postseason destiny. They are still a serious threat to win the AFC North.

Gilman saw this win as a revenge for the Bengals’ loss in Baltimore. This defeat also eliminated Cincinnati (4-10) from the playoffs.

Gilman admitted that he was “pissed off” about the loss.

The Ravens could enter Week 16 tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-8) or behind by a game, depending on the result of the Steelers-Miami Dolphins matchup played Monday night. The race is down to three games and if the Ravens win, they will win their division.
