Clifton Brown’s Five Thoughts about Ravens’ Frustrating Loss against the Steelers

It’s understandable that the Ravens are frustrated with the officials, but they need to move on.

Ravens were slammed by three controversial and critical calls.

In the second quarter, Travis Jones was given a 15 yard unnecessary roughness for running into Chris Boswell’s snapper during his 32-yard field-goal.

The Steelers then removed Boswell’s field-goal and Kenneth Gainwell ran for a touchdown of 6 yards on the next play. The Steelers now have a 17-3 advantage instead of a 13-3 one.

In the fourth quarter two more calls were made against Baltimore that were overturned by officials. Jackson’s 13 yard pass to Isaiah Likely was the most crucial. If this touchdown had stood, Baltimore would have led 28-27 with 2:47 remaining. It didn’t.

C.J. earlier in the quarter deflected a pass from Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers, Okoye and Teddye Buchanan wrestled with each other for the ball as they fell.

Buchanan was initially called for an interception, but the call was reversed. Pittsburgh retained possession. The Steelers maintained possession and still held a five-point advantage, instead of Baltimore getting the ball on Pittsburgh’s 32 yard line after an interception.

Ravens are rightfully upset by these rulings. It won’t make a difference to their situation. It won’t change their situation, and they can’t afford any more losses.
