Baltimore Ravens snap count analysis, week 15: Ar’Darius Washington debuts in a blowout victory

In this game, the Ravens played only 41 offensive snaps. Lamar Jackson and Andrew Vorhees were among the offensive starters who were removed from the game when the Ravens had a large lead in the fourth-quarter. Stanley was injured earlier and missed some snaps. Carson Vinson, Emery Jones Jr. and other backup rookies played 10 snaps combined in relief.

Keaton Mitchell outsnapped Derrick Henry (16 snaps vs.15). Henry ran 11 times for 100 yard and Mitchell gained 65 yards on 8 carries. Rasheen Ali wasn’t far behind, with 11 snaps. He did not receive a carry, but he caught two passes for a total of 32 yards. A screen pass resulted in a touchdown reception from 30 yards.

Zay Flowers had a game full of highs, but also lows. He made two excellent catches, including a touchdown catch from 28 yards, and dropped two costly passes. Flowers led the team with 68 receiving yards in 32 snaps. Devontez Walker took on a larger role (25 snapped) when Rashod Bateman was absent, but he wasn’t targeted. Deandre Hopkins caught one pass in 13 snaps (32%), a gain of 32 yard.

Charlie Kolar, Isaiah Likely and Isaiah Likely were tied for the most snaps in the tight-end room. Mark Andrews caught two passes totaling 18 yards on 17 snaps. The other two tight ends were not even targeted. Pat Ricard, who played 18 snaps in a game plan that was heavily based on running the ball, also outpaced Andrews.

Baltimore’s defense played 76 times, which is more than their offense. They also managed to put on a great shutout. Safeties Alohi Gillman and Kyle Hamilton played 100% of the snaps, as did CB Nate Wiggins and LB Roquan. S Malaki Starks, CB Marlon Hushprey and LB Roquan Smith were close behind with 72 snaps apiece.

Gilman was a star in this game with a 84-yard return of an interception for a touchdown. He and Hamilton both recorded eight tackles while Starks made five tackles with a pass-breakup. Ar’Darius Washingon, who had been recovering from an achilles tear for a long time, made his first appearance in the secondary this season. Washington made two tackles and played 15 snaps (20%).

Two of the key defenders were forced to leave the game due to injuries. LB Teddye Buchanan, (knee), and CB Chidobe Awuzie, (foot). Buchanan took 12 snaps, and Awuzie 16 snaps. Trenton Simpson played a bigger role after Buchnan’s injury, and he ended up with 35 snaps (46%) The Ravens played primarily three safety and two cornerbacks without Awuzie. T.J. Tampa was on the field eight times.

Tavius Robinson played 34 snaps after returning from a long absence. Dre’Mont Jones led the edge rushers with 51 snaps and a game high of five quarterback hits. Mike Green also had a great game in 40 snaps. Kyle Van Noy (33) made a highlight interception and handed it to Gilman. Travis Jones, who just signed a contract extension for three years, also had a dominating game in 51 snaps.
