Flock Nation has begun to believe again in the Ravens.
The latest SB Nation Reacts Survey shows that fan confidence is now at 53%. This is up from 23% just two weeks ago, and it’s the highest level since Week 3.
Baltimore has had a difficult year. A slew injuries to key players during the first four weeks of this season wiped out Super Bowl hopes. In that time, the Ravens were 1-3 and the focus of the fans shifted from getting through to the postseason towards getting to postseason. Lamar Jackson was removed from the Baltimore team after their Week 4 loss against the Chiefs. This dropped fan confidence to single digits.
Tyler Huntley’s win over the Bears, however, boosted fan confidence above 50% for the first time in more than a week. Flock Nation didn’t respond to Jackson’s return, a win in Miami and the acquisition by Dre’Mont Jones, a veteran edge rusher. Instead, fan confidence went from 51% down to 53% over Weeks 9-10. It could be that Ravens fans were disappointed by the relatively quiet trade deadline. Jones is a good addition, but there were some larger trades on Tuesday that included players who would have improved Baltimore’s defense.
On Sunday, the Ravens will have another chance to win over their fans in Minnesota. Todd Monken will have to prove that he can plan an offensive strategy that is effective in order to defeat the Vikings’ defensive coach Brian Flores, who gave Jackson a lot of trouble back in 2021. Zach Orr’s goal will be to continue the Ravens defensive rebound against Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy who will play in his fourth NFL match. Orr will blitz aggressively on early downs in order to put McCarthy in more difficult passing situations.
A win in Minnesota over a team that is well-coached would be a feather in Ravens’ cap as they look to improve their season and compete for the AFC North title.
